Google map of all Celtic museums and sites

Postby Richard Campbell on April 18th, 2016, 11:05 am

Greetings, I am creating a Google map for travelers and students of ancient history. This particular map has separate layers for Roman, Etruscan, gladiatorial, and Celtic sites and museums. It is a continual work in progress. The green layer is for Celtic museums (green teardrop) and sites (green star). As it can be difficult to find such places, I welcome any suggestions or corrections. Feel free to share this as well.

That is quite a mammoth undertaking! How do you define "Celtic" ?

Good question! At first it is just any site labeled "celtic" since this stuff is hard to find. I have no idea who puts these into Google and how they determine how it is spelled and described. But as I'm only nominally familiar with Celtic, I'm open to suggestions. MyMaps has limitations which I'm hitting on this map. If there are enough sites and museums, etc, then a separate map would be warrented.

If you include reenactment sites, in France, there is Coriobona, the village of the Gaulois d'Esse : gaulois-esse.fr and the boat factory (? The place where ships are made...) of the Ambiani in Pont-Rémy : http://www.les-ambiani.com/index.php/20 ... llo-romain
I'm slinging in the rain
Just slinging in the rain
What a glorious feelin'
I'm happy again
